Description
What Do We Do? Triple Whale is the complete intelligence platform for ecommerce, helping brands stop guessing and start knowing what’s actually driving growth, what’s wasting money, and what to do next — with total confidence. By pulling all of a company’s data into one place, delivering measurement tools teams can actually trust, and applying the smartest AI in the industry, Triple Whale turns fragmented data into clear insights and actionable recommendations. That intelligence can then be put to work through AI agents and automations that generate creative assets, take action across marketing channels, and make every tool in their stack smarter and more effective. More than 50,000 ecommerce brands including Pressed Juicery, OUAI, and True Classic trust Triple Whale to grow faster and drive revenue with fewer resources by uncovering opportunities and acting on them at a scale that would be impossible manually. Why Triple Whale Needs You: We’re at a pivotal stage: strong product–market fit, rapidly growing adoption, and ambitious plans to scale our platform significantly. As our product expands, the complexity of our data, integrations, and infrastructure grows with it — and that’s where you come in. We need a hands-on backend engineer to help us build and scale the systems that power our data platform: integrating new providers, strengthening our data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy at scale, and evolving our infrastructure to support the next phase of growth. This role is critical to turning momentum into long-term impact, helping shape a product that’s already proven its value and is now ready to scale fast and far. What You’ll Do: Backend, hands-on development, building and maintaining server-side systems at scale. Integrate data from a wide range of external platforms and providers into the Triple Whale data warehouse, working with diverse APIs and data formats. Design, build, and operate data pipelines, with a deep understanding of data flow from fetching to ingest to final data house. Own and maintain integrations with external data providers, including API communication and operational reliability. Work on systems that handle real-world infrastructure challenges, including rate limiting, state management, data consistency, and scalability. Work with analytics- and matrix-oriented data structures, writing efficient, reliable code to process and transform data. Monitor, investigate, and resolve data mismatches. Define and evolve database schemas, ensuring performance, clarity, and long-term maintainability. Technologies we use: Languages: Node.js, TypeScript Databases: ClickHouse, MongoDB, Redis, Postgres Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Knative, GCP, Temporal Tooling: Git, GitHub, GCP build infrastructure, GitHub Actions, PubSub What You’ll Bring: Proven experience as a successful, independent software engineer (3+ years) Hands-on experience with core backend and platform concepts, including relational and non-relational databases, message queues, streaming systems, scalability, and rate limiting. A strong backend mindset with an understanding of production-grade systems and how they evolve at scale. Strong understanding of relational databases Strong written and verbal communication skills English fluency (spoken and written) Builder mentality: this is a hands-on position which primarily involves writing code and deploying it to production. Availability to work from our Jerusalem office Monday's and Wednesday's required, we are conveniently located in the offices of Jerusalem Central Bus Station office building Bonus points if you bring: Deep experience with column-oriented databases and analytics-focused data storage Working knowledge of client-side development, particularly with React, to collaborate effectively across the stack Experience or familiarity with e-commerce, online sales workflows, or digital advertising platforms is a plus. Why You’ll Love This Role: You’ll work at the forefront of modern technology, building with the latest tools across the stack — from modern databases to the newest versions of TypeScript — in an environment that prioritizes innovation over maintaining legacy systems. As part of a fast-growing company with a flat structure, engineers work close to production and see the impact of their work quickly through real customer outcomes, not just internal demos. The role offers complex, meaningful engineering challenges, spanning a wide range of data providers and APIs and tackling real-world problems such as rate limiting, state management, data consistency, and infrastructure scalability. Our Values We Are Customer Obsessed: From our mission to every detailed project, everything we do is designed to create a positive impact for our customers. We Move (Very!) Quickly: The speed at which we work, iterate, and deliver value is our most competitive advantage. We Are Trustworthy: Candor, directness, and honest communication helps us learn, grow and improve so we can win together. We Are Curious: We extend beyond our comfort zone and ask questions that guide us towards new, creative, and bold paths. We Act Like A Mensch: We act with honor, integrity and empathy, and have deep respect for our customers and each other. Join Us in Making Waves If you’re looking for more than just a job and want to be part of a movement reshaping the future of Ecommerce, Triple Whale is the place for you.
