Description

As a Backend Developer at Valmet, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of server-side applications and services that support our clients’ digital solutions. Projects will be delivered both on-premises and in cloud environments. In this role, you will play a key part in the following activities: Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and applications Creating APIs and integration layers to connect applications, systems, and platforms Implementing business logic, data flows, and backend functionalities Working with databases and application data Ensuring reliability, security, scalability, and software quality Collaborating with frontend developers, analysts, architects, and project teams Required Experience and Qualification: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Automation Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or another relevant technical/scientific discipline 3+ years of experience in backend software development Experience in backend development using modern programming languages and frameworks, such as Java, .NET, Node.js, Python, or similar Knowledge of REST APIs, web services, and integration mechanisms Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL Familiarity with NoSQL databases is considered a plus Understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and clean code practices Familiarity with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices Basic knowledge of cloud environments and containerization technologies is considered a plus Exposure to software architecture, microservices, distributed systems, or solution design is considered a plus Fluent English We offer We offer you a challenging position in a dynamic global company and a great opportunity for your professional development.
