Speaksee is developing a range of solutions which make it easy to create full accessibility for the Deaf, hard-of-hearing and non-native speakers. Speaksee’s flagship product is the award-winning device Microphone Kit system:
the world’s first microphone system that accurately subtitles and translates group conversations into more than 40 languages.
Last year, Minister Carola Schouten announced that the Speaksee device will be fully reimbursed for all working deaf and hearing-impaired people. Since then, Speaksee, and our social impact, are growing rapidly. On top of that, we have just successfully closed a new financing round, meaning international growth is just around the corner.
Last but not least, we offer a fully equipped lab space including a 3D printer, soldering stations, hardware testing stations, and much more to play with to build great products.

Your daily work consists of developing features to strengthen our back-end platform, including:

• Always looking for Improvements to our real-time transcription and translation services to enhance accessibility for deaf, hard of hearing and non native speakers.
• New features for our AI driven transcription engine, improving accuracy and speed for live captions.
• Improve our data processing pipelines for real-time voice-to-text transcriptions
• Work on our infrastructure and deployment pipelines to improve our customers experience and also our own experience
• Scrum Leadership: Facilitating Scrum ceremonies based on the their team need

THE ROLE

We are seeking a motivated backend software engineer who is ready to take on parts of scrum leadership and is driven to make a positive social impact. In this role, you’ll not only develop key features for our backend platform but also play a crucial part in guiding the development team’s efforts using Scrum methodologies.

Your daily work consists of developing features to strengthen our back-end platform, including:

• Always looking for Improvements to our real-time transcription and translation services to enhance accessibility for deaf, hard of hearing and non native speakers.
• New features for our AI driven transcription engine, improving accuracy and speed for live captions.
• Improve our data processing pipelines for real-time voice-to-text transcriptions
• Work on our infrastructure and deployment pipelines to improve our customers experience and also our own experience
• Scrum Leadership: Facilitating Scrum ceremonies based on the their team needs
