At Clypp, we're changing how companies share knowledge. From a short screen or video recording, our platform builds a complete work instruction: transcribed, summarised, multilingual, ready to use.

There's a lot of backend behind that single button. That's where you come in.

YOUR ROLE

As a Backend Developer, you take end-to-end ownership of our backend and shape how our engineering standards evolve. The role sits at the intersection of backend, product and UX, which means you have real leverage over how reliably and how fast we ship.

End-to-end ownership isn't a phrase we put in the ad and forget about. Nobody hands you a ticket someone else already thought through. You decide how a feature gets built, you take it to production, and it stays yours.

Backend Ownership

You own our backend from architecture to production and contribute directly to the Clypp codebase.

Engineering Standards

You define the standards we build by and drive initiatives that make the whole team better.

Product & UX Bridge

You work closely with our Product Owners, connecting backend decisions to what users actually experience.

Performance & Craft

You keep performance in view, optimise deliberately, and stand up for clean code even when the shortcut is tempting.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

You also get a product that's genuinely interesting to build: video processing, AI-driven transcription, multilingual output, all under real performance constraints. Not CRUD with a different logo. Paths are short, you work directly with the founders, and there's no approval marathon between an idea and a deployment.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

A small engineering team where everyone owns entire areas, plus a direct line to the founders. We work with talented colleagues across locations, and the working language in the team is English.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Backend experience with Python, Django and MySQL, including performance monitoring and optimisation
• You build solid IT infrastructure and can teach us a thing or two along the way
• You anticipate user behaviour and factor UX into your decisions
• Clean code, SOLID and real software craftsmanship matter to you
• You're driven by impact and eager to create customer value
• Very good communication skills in English

NICE-TO-HAVE

• 2 to 4 years of backend experience are ideal
• Experience with WebRTC and FFmpeg is a strong plus
