This role
As a Software Engineer within PayJoy’s team, you will build the technology to support millions of customers worldwide. Our unique locking technology combines our proprietary “secret sauce” and the effective use of data to give users credit-based products in emerging markets. We’re also focused on world-class app design, web frontend and backend, and partner API integrations. As a key part of PayJoy’s global engineering team, you need to be up for any technical challenge and willing to learn new technologies.
Responsibilities
Code software primarily in Python (Django), PHP
Design and build RESTful services and API integrations with 3rd party payment providers
Build payment integrations with 3rd party Payment vendors
Build producers/consumers to propagate data downstream
Design data models that align with long term data strategy
Support and maintain Payment applications that process ~180k payments per day
Write design documentation for services that will include diagrams and proposed models (tables).
Requirements
Proficient knowledge of back-end programming languages (5+ years) Python (Django), PHP
Proficient in designing and building RESTful services and APIs
Proficient in database schema design (Relational DBs, MYSQL, Postgres)
Good understanding of integration with 3rd party payment providers
Good understanding of data streaming solutions (ex: Kafka)
Solid understanding of caching solutions (ex: Memcache, Redis)
Solid understanding of scheduling solutions (ex: Celery)
Knowledge of GraphQL is a plus.
Solid understanding of JWT authentication.
