About The Role: We’re looking for a Backend Software Engineer with strong proficiency in PHP and good working knowledge of MySQL to join our development team. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with frontend developers and coordinate with UI and UX designers to build and maintain scalable, high-performing websites and applications. You will develop backend systems, maintain existing codebases, design databases, and create APIs to enable seamless integration with frontend components. Job Responsibilities: - Write clean, efficient, scalable, and maintainable PHP code for high-performance web applications. - Design, develop, and maintain backend systems, APIs, and database schemas. -Ensure application security by implementing industry-standard security practices. - Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and product stakeholders to deliver seamless user experiences. -Review code, provide constructive feedback, and help maintain high engineering standards. -Contribute to architectural decisions, performance tuning, and technical direction. - Manage and deliver tasks within agreed timelines and project milestones. - Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and user-reported issues. - Maintain clear documentation for code, systems, and workflows. - Stay up to date with evolving PHP ecosystems, backend technologies, and best practices Requirements: 2-5 years of experience in Web development. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Strong PHP skills; experience with frameworks like Laravel, Lumen, Symfony. Node.js is a plus. Working knowledge of MySQL; experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB is a plus. Full-stack development exposure, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries (Vue.js, React, etc) is a plus. Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills. Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects.
