This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Backend Engineer in the United States. We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join a high-performing integrations team responsible for moving massive volumes of data across a sophisticated SaaS platform. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize backend systems and integration connectors that power real-time workflows for clients. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to ensure data pipelines are reliable, scalable, and efficient. The ideal candidate thrives in distributed systems environments, enjoys tackling technical challenges thoughtfully, and is committed to high-quality, maintainable code while continuously learning and adopting modern tools and best practices. Accountabilities: Design, implement, test, and maintain backend integration connectors to support trillions of data points across diverse systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders, to prioritize and deliver high-impact data solutions. Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot backend systems to ensure high reliability, performance, and scalability. Participate in on-call rotations and other team responsibilities to maintain platform uptime and operational excellence. Contribute to team knowledge-sharing, retrospectives, and process improvements, bringing creativity and energy to problem-solving. Continuously enhance backend architecture, incorporating AI, automation, and best practices to improve efficiency and maintainability. 3–5+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer working on SaaS products. Proficiency in at least one compiled or JIT language (Golang preferred; Kotlin, Java, Rust, C++ also considered). Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, SQS, Pub/Sub, or RabbitMQ. Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals: data types, algorithms, and networking basics. Comfortable working with Postgres-style SQL; experience with data warehouses (Redshift, BigQuery, Cloudberry) is a plus. Familiarity with ETL flows and data pipeline orchestration (DAGs) is beneficial. Command-line proficiency and ability to navigate UNIX-like environments effectively. Strong communication skills, able to collaborate with both technical and non-technical colleagues. Analytical, idealistic yet practical mindset, focusing on solutions that deliver the most impact. 🌎 100% remote work within the United States. 🏖 Flexible vacation policy with additional annual travel allowance. 📅 Three-day weekend every month. 💰 Competitive salary and performance-based incentives. 🏥 100% healthcare coverage, including medical, dental, and vision plans. 🏦 401(k) retirement plan with optional contributions. 💡 Access to professional development, coaching, and mental health resources. 🧩 Collaborative, people-first company culture emphasizing trust, ambition, quality, and compassionate leadership.
