Our mission at Qwello is to revolutionize the charging industry, we are committed to turn the world from combustion to electric. We design, build and operate charging infrastructure for the public space. We excel in simplicity, user focus and engineering excellence. We value diversity of thought, background and approaches and foster a culture of belonging. We understand that the best products are built by excellent teams, not individual superstars. Be part of shaping the E-mobility of the future!
To reach our goal we are looking for an Engineering Manager - reporting directly to the CTO - to lead our Backend team—someone who is deeply organized, technically competent, and focused on amplifying their team’s impact. You will ensure that the team delivers on stability and scaling goals of our backend, our CPO roaming services, our load balancing and smart charging components, our custom integration into Odoo, as well as our data pipelines while maintaining clarity on priorities, structured execution, and effective outside–team communication. Your role is not to be a gatekeeper, but to enable and empower the team, ensuring their ideas and work translate into real-world impact.
As an Engineering Manager at Qwello you will play a key role in bridging product, engineering, and business needs. You will be responsible for structured planning, OKR execution, and ensuring the team’s work aligns with company goals. You will code - but just enough to understand the team’s decisions, trade-offs, and technical debt—allowing you to advocate for them with confidence when they are not in the room. You will own people management fully, conducting regular 1-on-1s, supporting career development, and ensuring the team has everything they need to be effective. Above all, you will be highly self-organized, ensuring that tasks do not get dropped unintentionally and that priorities remain clear.
