Our team works primarily remote in over 25 US states with the ability to work in any US state and is passionate about delivering easy to use software to help small businesses accept payments from their customers. We’re currently looking for a junior-level Backend Software Engineer who will take a key role on our United States location-neutral team. You will have the opportunity to unlock new ideas and solutions for our products, solving problems in CardFlight’s backend systems responsible for transaction processing and settlement and supporting code certifications for our payment processor integrations. Our backend applications are primarily built with Ruby on Rails with some supporting microservices in Typescript and C#, our DevOps infrastructure is built on AWS, and CI/CD is handled via github actions. In this role, we value strong communication, agility, and attention to detail. Lastly, being able to context switch effectively, manage many concurrent tasks, and work in a fast-based environment is a crucial aspect of this role.
The position is US location-neutral remote, with opportunities to get together as a company and team throughout the year.

Responsibilities

Developing and Testing

  • Collaborate with a team of talented engineers to continuously build, ship, learn, and iterate on our products
  • Implement backend code changes and bug fixes to support code certifications of new and existing functionality
  • Execute manual test cases and track open issues during a certification

Technical Support

  • Support operations team with customer-facing technical issues
