Backend Team Lead | Remote We’re looking for an experienced Backend Team Lead to stabilize and scale a production-grade Web3 backend with real on-chain activity. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer with deep hands-on expertise and mature leadership skills, who is ready to own backend systems end-to-end from architecture and processes to production stability and team growth. Salary: Competitive, based on experience Format: Full-time, Remote About the Role: You’ll design, develop, and maintain backend systems powering Solana-based Web3 products in production. Your focus will be on stabilizing backend infrastructure, systematically reducing bugs, and introducing strong engineering culture and ownership. You’ll work closely with smart contracts, Solana RPC infrastructure, and high-load on-chain data streams, while leading architectural decisions and mentoring a growing engineering team. We are not considering candidates with surface-level Web3 experience. Key Responsibilities: • Design and own backend architecture for Solana Web3 products • Stabilize backend systems and eliminate recurring production issues • Reduce bugs systemically through architecture, processes, and tooling • Introduce and enforce engineering culture, quality, and accountability • Lead code reviews, architectural decisions, and technical standards • Organize and improve development processes • Handle incidents and perform root cause analysis • Scale the backend team and mentor engineers • Collaborate with smart contract, product, and Web3 teams • Senior-level hands-on backend engineer with team leadership experience • Proven experience leading a backend team (task planning, code reviews, mentoring) • Strong background in high-load or complex backend systems • Ability to make technical and architectural decisions within the team • Deep understanding of backend system design, scalability, and reliability • Strong ownership mindset and responsibility for backend delivery Required Blockchain / Solana Experience: • Strong hands-on experience with Rust in production environments • Experience developing and maintaining Solana smart contracts (programs) • Hands-on experience working with Solana RPC • Practical experience with on-chain data subscriptions and streaming • Experience working with Geyser or similar on-chain data pipelines • Confident understanding of on-chain activities and data flows • Experience integrating Solana protocols (e.g. Jupiter) Backend & Infrastructure Stack: • Rust (Solana programs, on-chain logic) • Python, TypeScript (backend services, integrations) • FastAPI, Celery • Redis, PostgreSQL • Docker • Web3.py, Solana Web3.js Smart Contracts & Backend Integration: • Hands-on development and maintenance of smart contracts in Rust • Integration of smart contracts with backend services • Understanding of smart contract lifecycle, deployment, and upgrades • Ability to design backend systems considering on-chain constraints (latency, fees, throughput, consistency) Nice to Have: • Experience with rain.xyz and bridge.xyz, • Experience working in crypto / DeFi / Web3 products at scale • High-impact role in a production Web3 product with real users • Ownership over backend architecture and technical direction • Influence on engineering culture, processes, and team growth • Fully remote and flexible work environment
