Description The primary purpose of the Backstretch Facilities Tech is to perform semi/non-skilled general and heavy-duty tasks for our Horse Racetrack. They will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining horse barns, equipment and related structures. This includes handling repairs to the barn's infrastructure, such as stalls, and flooring, as well as ensuring that all safety and operational standards are met. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Inspect horse barns for damage, wear, and safety hazards. Report findings to supervisors/managers Perform repairs and maintenance on barn structures, tack rooms, and dorms including stalls, doors, and flooring. Operate power washers, leaf blowers and lawn equipment to maintain exterior surfaces. Maintain and repair water systems, lighting components as needed. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities when submitting daily log paperwork. Provide recommendations for improvements and upgrades to enhance barn functionality to property leadership. Follow safety protocols and ensure all work complies with relevant regulations. Keep work areas clean and organized and dispose of waste materials properly. Completes all required trainings. Requirements Performs other job-related duties as requested Proof of eligibility to work in the United States Education High School Diploma or GED Required Work Experience 1+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience Proven experience in carpentry, construction, or a related field, preferably with a focus on barn or equestrian facilities. Required 6+ Months of Prior Relevant Experience Basic knowledge of barn construction and maintenance techniques. Preferred 6+ Months of Prior Relevant Experience Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools. Preferred Additional Requirements Experience with heavy machinery operation. Required Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to read and understand technical data. Ability to understand and comprehend MSDS paperwork. Ability to understand and comply with all company safety policies and their requirements. Ability to visually view work area and assigned tasks. Basic computer skills. Ability to work with animals Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
