Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience working in a Feed Mill or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to work with a team but also self-motivated to be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to be coached and learn processes
  • Forklift and skid steer experience is an asset
  • Basic computer skills and numeracy and accuracy
  • Class 5 license is an asset

Trouw Nutrition is seeking Bagger/Warehouse Workers to join our team in Westlock, Alberta. Reporting to the Plant Manager, BAGGER/WAREHOUSE WORKER is responsible for packaging products into bags, ensuring accurate weight and labeling, and preparing them for shipment or storage. Your role will involve working in the production and warehouse; and requires attention to detail ensuring that our high-quality standards are met with every product that leaves our facility, adherence to safety protocols, and teamwork to maintain efficient operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate bagging machinery to package products into specified sizes and weights, using appropriate bags
  • Inspect products for quality and ensure proper packaging standards are met
  • Apply accurate labels to bags, including product details, weights, and batch numbers
  • Record quantities of finished goods and assist in maintaining inventory accuracy
  • Adhere to the safety and food safety requirements per Trouw Nutrition protocols and other regulatory bodies (CFIA/HACCP/SGS)
  • Assist with loading packaged goods onto pallets or trucks and unloading raw materials
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring safe working conditions
  • Perform routine checks and minor maintenance on bagging equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Work with all employees to maintain integrity of company standards
  • Maintain courteous and professional relationship with customers and co-workers
  • Ensure a positive customer experience
  • Assist with inventory counts

EXPECTATION FROM THE ROLE:

  • Rotating shifts may be required, including occasional weekends or extended hours based on operational needs
  • Mon-Fri Shift schedule: 6am-2:30 pm, 2pm-10:30pm, 10pm-6:30am, rotated weekly
  • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced physically demanding environment
  • Ability to regularly bend, twist, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights and in variable-temperature environmental conditions, including loud sounds and dust.
  • Unionized position under the Canada - Grain and General Services Union (GSU) agreement
  • Starting wage: $20/hour
