Bakehouse on Cranford is urgently in need of an experienced Baker to join our highly skilled team.
As a baker, you will be responsible to follow recipes accurately, prepare and bake a wide variety of bread and other baked goods, do quality checks on ingredients and finished items and maintain a clean and organised work area. You should be creative, passionate about baking, and able to work well in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum qualification required is Certificate III or Certificate IV or equivalent with 3 years full-time mandatory relevant work experience.

SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to read and follow recipes, to be creative
  • Ability to follow strict health and safety standards
  • Good health with no skin or breathing complaints
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of modern bakery equipment is a must
  • Demonstrated consistent industry experience will be highly regarded
  • Must be fast, efficient and reliable worker
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times

Responsibilities
  • Assisting in determining quantities of ingredients required daily and maintaining stock levels
  • Selecting appropriate ingredients and equipment and setting up work station
  • Weighing and measuring suitable ingredients in accurate quantities.
  • Prepare and bake fruit breads, pies, pastries, muffins, slices and biscuits following set recipes
  • Prepare and check condition of equipment and devices used for baking
  • Combine measured ingredients in mixers or blenders
  • Monitor oven temperatures during baking and ensure product appearance is consistent
  • Follow cooling processes
  • Apply icings and toppings using spatulas or brushes
  • Make dough from scratch
  • Hand moulding of breads
  • Operate diverse baking machines
  • Oven work and deck baking
  • Inventory management
  • Ensure high quality standard of all baking materials and products
  • Complete Production Sheets
  • Maintaining a clean work environment, in line with food safety and OHS standards
  • Ensure all equipment and kitchen utensils are cleaned thoroughly
  • Completing food preparation, wastage, temperature and other production and food safety reports.
