The Green Bakery in North Sydney have an amazing opportunity for an experienced CAKE DECORATOR [on a Full-time / Part-time basis] to join our dynamic baking team in the production of cakes and cupcakes.

Your duties will include:

  • Decorate stunning custom cakes for birthdays, weddings, events and specialty orders
  • Execute advanced piping techniques including rosettes, borders, lettering and floral work
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment
  • Work as part of a close team in a fast paced environment
  • Check production schedule for daily cake needs
  • Operating commercial mixing machines and equipment
  • Ice and decorate cakes, cupcakes and, cookies
  • Complete quality assurance checks on custom orders and shop stock
  • Clean commercial baking equipment and benches
  • Ensure all food preparation areas are cleaned at end of each shift
  • A warm, professional manner and excellent communication skills
  • Confidence in managing customer enquiries, taking orders, and handling payments
  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience is a plus

To be successful in this role you will need to be a proactive person, who is all about baking and icing the best cakes and cupcakes possible! In addition, you will need to have:

  • Experience in cake decorating of at least 1 year
  • An ability to hand pipe and be proficient in using a piping bag efficiently
  • Minimum 1 year experience in commercial baking or kitchen environment
  • Pastry and / or Chef qualifications are preferred by not essential
  • The ability to work in a fast paced team environment
  • Willingness to support other team members in a close knit environment
  • Sound knowledge of all aspects of food safety and hygiene

Pay: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour
