Description Summary The primary objective of this position is to assist in the preparation of a variety of baked goods by following existing recipes and preparing large quantities of breads, pastries, and cakes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Follow existing recipes Measure, weigh and prepare ingredients Knead, roll, cut, and prepare dough as needed Monitor oven temperatures, speed settings, mixing machines, and other baking equipment Ensure food surfaces and baking equipment meet all health and safety standards Clean and maintain baking equipment, utensils, and tools Monitor items during baking Decorate, glaze, apply icing, and prepare toppings for baked goods Operate slicing, cutting, and wrapping equipment Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Basic knowledge of measurements. Ability to read and follow recipes. Basic cake decorating skills. Knowledge of plating cakes and desserts for meal service.
