ABOUT THE POSITION:

Eastern Standard is seeking an experienced baker to round out its Bakery and Pastry Department. Are you excited by fresh milled flour? Does thinking about fermentation keep you up at night? Responsibilities
  • Prepare, produce, and bake artisan breads, enriched rolls, and viennoiserie.
  • Set time and speed controls for mixing machines, or blending machines, so that ingredients will be mixed or cooked according to instructions.
  • Accurately measure or weigh flour or other ingredients to prepare batters, doughs, fillings, and pastry creams, using scales or graduated containers.
  • Prepare garnishes as needed for baked goods.
  • Maintain adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensure proper storage and refrigeration.
  • Keeps food waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products.
  • Properly clean, break down, and store all baking equipment including: ovens, mixers, proofer, floors, freezer, and refrigerators.
  • Assist in pasta making as needed.
