Description Summary: We are seeking a passionate and reliable Baker to join our artisan bakery team. In this role, you will support the production of handcrafted, high-quality breads and baked goods using traditional techniques and premium ingredients. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Assist in the preparation and baking of artisan breads, pastries, and seasonal specialties. Scale, mix, shape, and proof doughs according to established formulas and schedules. Operate and maintain baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofers. Follow fermentation timelines and dough-handling techniques essential to artisan baking. Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure quality and consistency. Maintain a clean, organized, food-safe work environment. Assist with ingredient prep, mise en place, and end-of-day cleaning. Help with packing and labeling of baked goods for retail and wholesale. Uphold the bakery’s quality standards and contribute to a positive team culture. Comply with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards. Qualifications: Strong communication, time and resource management, and planning skills. Attention to detail, especially when performing quality inspections on ingredients and products. Basic math and computer skills. Willingness to work independently or with other team members to solve problems, plan schedules, fulfill orders, and create baked goods. Flexibility to various hours and shifts to meet the needs of the bakery, including early morning, night, weekend, and holiday availability. Ability to work in a hot, hectic environment; stand, walk, bend, use hands and appliances; and lift heavy items for extended periods. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior baking experience in a restaurant, café setting. More education or experience may be preferred.
