JOB OVERVIEW

Join our vegan bakery!
You will be training directly with Holly, the owner and lead baker at Hollycake House!
Our bakery candidate will have a strong background in professional food & bakery production and preparation. You must have the ability to follow scratch recipes including (but not limited to) muffins, scones, frostings, cookies, cakes, and pies. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in the kitchen. As a Baker, you will play a vital role in our business, contributing to the overall success of our establishment.

SKILLS YOU NEED TO HAVE:

  • Must have scratch baking experience
  • Must have basic math skills for scaling recipes
  • Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in baking or pastry preparation is required
  • Strong knowledge of food production processes and culinary techniques related to baking.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a passion for creating visually appealing baked goods.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including early mornings or weekends as needed.
  • A culinary degree or certification is a plus but not required; hands-on experience is highly valued.

    Applicants must have the ability to follow scratch recipes including (but not limited to) muffins, scones, frostings, cookies, cakes, and pies. Experience with scratch baking and the ability to complete simple math is a must, but vegan baking experience is not required.
    Applicants must have great attention to detail and the desire to produce high-quality products. The ability to decorate cakes and cookies, torte, frost and decorate cakes would be a fantastic bonus, but is not a required skill (must have the desire to learn these skills).
    A successful candidate will be able to work independently, communicate effectively with others and have excellent time management skills.
Responsibilities
  • Preparing a variety of baked goods including muffins, pastries, cakes, and cookies according to established recipes.
  • Measuring and mixing ingredients accurately to ensure consistency in product quality.
  • Operating baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers safely and efficiently.
  • Monitoring baking times and temperatures to achieve optimal results.
  • Decorating and presenting baked items attractively
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
