We’re seeking a skilled and passionate Baker – Pastry Cook to join our Food & Beverage team, creating top-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods that elevate the guest experience.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Baker – Pastry Cook, you’ll be responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting high-quality pastries and desserts. Your creations will play a key role in delighting our guests and enhancing their stay at Cheeca Lodge & Spa.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Post-secondary education in culinary arts, baking, or pastry preferred.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE (ESSENTIAL)

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Baking and pastry knowledge with hands-on experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong command of the English language with excellent communication skills, both in person and by telephone.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED)

  • One to two years of post-high school culinary, baking, or pastry education.
  • Prior culinary, baking, or pastry experience in a high-quality establishment.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, produce, cook, and bake a variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
  • Ensure adherence to Safe Serve food safety standards.
  • Maintain inventory and par levels, ensuring sufficient stock of baking ingredients and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute menu items.
  • Work flexible shifts, including weekends, nights, and late-night hours, as needed.
  • Exhibit knowledge of basic culinary, baking, and pastry techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.
