  • Familiarity with various baking methods and equipment.
  • Ability to work early mornings, starting around 4:00 AM, with flexibility for additional hours as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Team player with strong communication skills.

ABOUT THE ROLE - BAKER/PASTRY COOK

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker/Pastry Cook to join our team at Park Hyatt Aviara. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on laminated doughs, bread pastries, and a variety of other baked goods. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are dedicated to producing high-quality baked items, we want to hear from you!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, breads, and laminated doughs, including croissants, Danish, and puff pastry.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately to create doughs and batters.
  • Follow recipes and adjust based on seasonal ingredients and availability.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Monitor and manage baking times and temperatures to ensure optimal product quality.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop new recipes and improve existing products.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering and receiving supplies as needed.
  • Maintain equipment and report any maintenance issues.
