Key Responsibilities for Cruise Ship Baker Tournant Jobs Prepare, bake, and deliver a variety of breads, rolls, pastries, and baked goods for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events according to cruise line recipes and standards. Work in rotation across all bakery production areas, ensuring seamless delivery of fresh products to multiple dining venues onboard. Maintain accurate production levels, following portion control guidelines and minimizing waste. Uphold the highest standards of sanitation, HACCP and USPH food safety practices, and personal hygiene at all times. Support the Executive Baker and greater bakery team with daily tasks, special requests, and event preparations. Assist in training and mentoring less experienced bakery team members to foster skill development and an inclusive learning environment. Participate in regular cleaning and maintenance of bakery equipment and workspaces. Respond quickly to last-minute requests or dietary needs from guests or management. Requirements for Cruise Ship Baker Tournant Roles Minimum 2 years of bakery or bread production experience in a high-volume hotel, resort, cruise vessel, or reputable bakery setting. Culinary or baking school certification preferred but not mandatory for experienced candidates. Thorough knowledge of bread, pastry doughs, laminated doughs, and international baking techniques. Solid understanding of food safety, allergen management, and hygiene practices. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and adapt to shifting schedules or production needs. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills. Day-to-Day Responsibilities on a Cruise Ship Bakery Team Rotate through various stations to produce breads, breakfast pastries, specialty baked items, and gluten-free options as needed. Assist with setup and service of bread displays, buffet presentations, and themed nights throughout the ship. Contribute to bakery inventory management and reporting of supply needs to bakery leadership. Ensure all areas comply with strict maritime food safety and cleanliness requirements. Additional Requirements and Cruise Ship Baker Qualifications Willingness to live and work onboard a cruise ship for 6–8 month contracts, with worldwide travel. Valid passport and US C1/D visa required. Successful completion of a pre-employment English assessment. Medical clearance as required by maritime law.
