We are a small, steadily growing, award-winning artisan bakery with 2 sites within Edinburgh. We have been running for nearly 15 years, and are considered one of the top bakeries in the city (one magazine has named us as one of the top ten bakeries in the UK). We produce a range of award winning breads, biscuits, cakes and pastries from scratch on our premises, using the minimum of ingredients and no pre-mixes, enhancers, improvers or additives.
We are looking for an experienced baker to help temporarily as we continue to grow, we will also accept applications from those wishing to train as a baker. We expect the role to last about 3 months, and may become permanent.
The role will be full-time/5 shifts per week, and involve weekend work and night shifts. You need to be over 18 (due to the need for night shifts) hard working and a good time keeper. You will need to have an interest in food production and a love of high quality breads. While experience as an artisan baker would be advantageous it is not essential, and we are happy to accept applications from craft bakers, and trainees. We will train you in the production of artisan breads and pastries using real ingredients and artisan methods, leading to an SVQ Certificate in Bread Baking. Working with our team of experienced artisan bakers this could allow you to build on a fulfilling and varied career.
Please note this is a bread making role, and not suitable for someone looking for pastry work. The role will be based in Leith.
Wages will be subject to experience, however for a trainee will £14.04hr night rate/£12.21hr day rate
