BAKER JOB DESCRIPTION A baker is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of baked goods, such as bread, cakes, pastries, and pies. They must be able to follow recipes and measure ingredients accurately to ensure consistent quality. Bakers must also be able to operate and maintain baking equipment, such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, such as bread, cakes, pastries, and pies * Follow recipes and measure ingredients accurately to ensure consistent quality * Operate and maintain baking equipment, such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters * Decorate and present baked goods in an attractive manner * Ensure that all baked goods are fresh and of high quality * Clean and maintain the bakery area and equipment * Order and maintain inventory of baking supplies and ingredients * Collaborate with other bakery staff to develop new recipes and products REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma or equivalent * Previous experience as a baker or in a related field * Knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients * Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment * Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills * Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and ability to stand for long periods of time * Ability to handle emergency and stressful situations like resolving customer conflicts * Ability to make quick decisions BENEFITS: * Employee fooog discount * Health insurance available   * Dental insurance available * Paid time off * Employee profit sharing (after 1 year continuous service) * Complimentary hotel room on your birthday (after 1 year continuous service) ABOUT US: We are a family-owned independent restaurant and hotel located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
