Responsibilities

SCOPE OF THE ROLE:

  • Mixing, preparing, weighing and measuring ingredients for the preparation of goods.
  • Decorating pastries using different icings, toppings, etc., ensures the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
  • Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
  • Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, etc. and make appropriate orders within budget for management.
  • Contributing ideas to the menu & having involvement in seasonal pastry menu development.
  • Check the quality of the material and the condition of the equipment and devices used for cooking.
  • Complying with food hygiene and safety requirements.
  • Keep a sanitised and orderly environment in the kitchen.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
  • Keeping accurate records.
  • Operating a variety of kitchen equipment.
  • Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel
  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment.
  • Plan & prepare the production and schedule.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, CANDIDATES SHOULD MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Availability on both weekend days and flexibility to work split shifts
  • Preferably hold a Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or a relevant field
  • Be a qualified Baker with at least 2-3 years of hands-on experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to relocate if currently residing interstate or in other cities
