Description

We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Business Manager / Area Manager to oversee the operations of our multichain bakery. This role requires an individual who is deeply involved in both the strategic and day-to-day operations of the business. The primary responsibility is to ensure the achievement of financial targets, including sales revenue and operating costs, across all stores. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of analysing product performance, identifying sales trends and managing the front-of-house team to uphold high service standards. This person will also work closely with the production team to ensure that production targets are met to support sales revenue goals.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferably possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in multi-store bakery chain as Business Manager, Operations Manager or similar role.
  • Experienced working closely with production teams to align production with sales forecasts and financial goals.
  • In-depth ability to analyse product mix, sales performance, and cost structures using data to optimise operations and improve profitability.
  • Have a strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and build reliable models for business growth.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales and growth targets.
  • P&L responsibility.
  • An excellent team player with strong analytical, people-management, communication and organisation skills.

Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts to meet or exceed key financial targets, including sales revenue, operating costs, and profitability for each store. Ensure that strategies and decisions are aligned with financial objectives.
  • Analyse sales data to identify which products are performing well and which are underperforming. Use insights from data to optimise the product mix, pricing strategies, and sales efforts to maximise revenue.
  • Develop and implement data-driven sales strategies to meet targets, adjusting the product mix or promotional activities based on customer demand, seasonal trends, and market conditions.
  • Ensure that production is able to meet the target production numbers in order for the stores to achieve the target sales revenue. Collaborate closely with the production team to ensure that production volumes align with sales forecasts and financial targets. Provide data-driven forecasts to ensure the correct quantity of products is available to meet customer demand.
  • Manage and implement effective product wastage control strategies while ensuring streamlined operations and maintaining cost-efficiency across all processes.
  • Actively monitor and respond to customer feedback, including complaints, in a timely and professional manner. Take necessary actions to resolve any issues promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Use customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and enhance future sales prospects by improving product offerings or service quality.
  • Oversee the training of FOH staff, including service standards, company policies, display, product knowledge and sales.
  • Conducting regular performance appraisals and providing feedback to improve staff performance.
  • Addressing any disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Creating a positive work environment to foster teamwork and employee satisfaction.
  • Review and enhance SOPs and processes and conduct outlet audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Prepare and present regular financial and performance reports to senior management, highlighting progress toward sales and cost targets.
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
