JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Retail Bakery Assistant to join our crew. The ideal hire would enjoy customer service, be reliable, feel comfortable with light food handling/prep, and enjoy being one of the faces of an integral business in the local food community. This role involves being one of a few, running the daily operations of the retail bakery.
This position is currently part time but can become full time for the right candidate.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

• Previous experience in a food-based customer service role is preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and baking processes or dressings are an asset.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and other work mates.
• Organizational skills to ensure ordering and communication systems are followed appropriately
• Foodsafe Level 1 or the basic understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry with the willingness to get your Foodsafe Level 1 soon after starting employment.
• The desire to learn our products and methods to be able to communicate them properly to our customers

  Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
