DESCRIPTION:
The Bakery Dept. Assistant Manager supports the overall success of the Bakery department at Plum Market by assisting with daily operations, team leadership, and exceptional retail Customer Service. This role oversees bakery execution, supports product quality and merchandising, and ensures Team Members are properly trained, scheduled, and motivated. In collaboration with the Bakery Manager, the Assistant Manager plays a key role in maintaining inventory levels, presentation standards, and department profitability. They also assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the department Manager.
Deliver an outstanding Customer experience by leading with hospitality, efficiency, and a positive attitude.
Support the Bakery Manager in ordering, inventory control, and production scheduling to ensure consistent product availability.
Monitor the quality, freshness, and merchandising of all bakery products.
Provide daily direction and support to Team Members, assisting with training, task delegation, and performance feedback.
Step in to lead the department in the Manager’s absence, ensuring operational continuity and a strong service culture.
Maintain pricing accuracy, signage standards, and store cleanliness across all bakery service areas.
Collaborate with leadership and peers to execute promotions, seasonal resets, and department goals.
Foster a safe and sanitary working environment by following food safety guidelines and Plum Market policies.
Actively participate in team communication, meetings, and development efforts to enhance performance and morale.
Model professionalism, accountability, and Plum Market’s core values in all interactions.
