Job Summary:
As a Bakery Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of delicious baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, and more. You will lead the production process in our kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. You will work closely with the bakery team and management to maintain smooth operations and contribute to the creative process of our seasonal menu items.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other desserts.
  • Ensure all items meet the bakery’s quality standards for taste, appearance, and consistency.
  • Assist in the development of new recipes and seasonal offerings.
  • Oversee kitchen operations and ensure efficient production of baked goods.
  • Manage inventory, ordering ingredients, and ensuring proper storage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Supervise and mentor junior bakery staff to ensure high standards of work and efficiency.
  • Ensure all baked goods are ready and available according to the bakery’s schedule.
  • Collaborate with other team members to create visually appealing and innovative displays for products.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Bakery Chef or Pastry Chef, with a strong portfolio of baked goods.
  • Expertise in a variety of baking techniques, including bread making, pastry production, and cake decorating.
  • Creativity in developing new products and customizing offerings to meet customer preferences.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen sanitation.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to manage and train a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail in both production and presentation.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal culinary training from a recognized institution or baking/pastry school.
  • Experience in a high-volume bakery or pastry kitchen.
  • Familiarity with advanced pastry techniques and decoration (e.g., wedding cakes, special-event desserts).
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in baking and pastry.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry heavy items, such as flour bags or trays of baked goods.
  • Comfortable working in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.
