JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. As a Bakery Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting customers, maintaining the bakery area, and ensuring that all products are fresh and appealing. This role requires strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred but not required.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and providing accurate change.
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in food preparation areas.
• Experience with cashiering or cash handling is a plus.
• A genuine desire to help customers and provide an enjoyable shopping experience.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience working in a bakery or food service environment preferred.
• Strong work ethic and a willingness to take on various tasks as needed.
• Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ontario workers health and safety awareness training in 4 steps completed with certificate of completion.
• Food handler certification preferred but not required.

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their bakery selections.
• Help in food preparation, including slicing bread, packaging pastries, and assembling special orders.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery area in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Handle cash transactions accurately while operating the cash register and processing payments.
• Ensure that all bakery products are displayed attractively and stocked appropriately throughout the day.
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to management.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
