A Bakery Shop Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within a bakery, offering customer service, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with the production and display of baked goods. The assistant helps create a welcoming environment for customers and supports bakery staff in daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service: Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Take orders, answer questions about products, and provide recommendations.
Handle cash, process payments, and issue receipts.
Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving complaints or issues in a courteous and timely manner.
Bakery Operations Support: Assist with the preparation, baking, and decoration of baked goods as needed.
Help with measuring ingredients, mixing, and packaging products.
Keep the bakery display organized and ensure items are properly stocked.
Ensure baked goods are stored appropriately to maintain freshness.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
Clean display cases, counters, ovens, and other equipment regularly.
Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in food handling and sanitation.
Inventory and Stock Management: Assist in inventory management by keeping track of stock levels and informing the bakery manager when supplies need to be replenished.
Unpack deliveries and organize ingredients, packaging, and supplies in storage.
Packaging and Labelling: Package baked goods in an attractive and secure manner for sale or delivery.
Label products with the correct pricing and expiry information.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other bakery staff to ensure efficient workflow.
Support the head baker and other team members as needed.
