Position Highlights Located at the BJWCH Ballas Surgery Center Full Time - 4 days per week set schedule 09:30am to 7:00pm NO Call NO Weekends NO Holidays PACU experience preferred ICU, ED or Critical Care RN experience needed BLS, ACLS or PALS certification needed Benefits eligible first day of month after start 401K with match The BJWC Surgery Center, located at 450 North New Ballas Rd, cares for ambulatory surgery patients undergoing otolaryngology and ophthalmology procedures. This RN position is in the peri-anesthesia department, and will be trained in both the pre and post care of patients. Our skilled team ensures seamless transitions from pre-operative assessments to post-anesthesia recovery, prioritizing patient safety and education. Your critical care expertise will be valued, helping ensure optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction! Strong team player with excellent communication and collaborative skills needed. Overview Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
