WE’RE HIRING: BLACK, ASIAN, MINORITY ETHNIC SPECIALIST OUTREACH WORKER

Location: Port Talbot Area - Community and office based
Salary: £24,355 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Type: Permanent
Reporting to: Senior Community and Outreach Officer
On-call rota: 24/7 service, as per lone-working policy

Do you have a strong understanding of the barriers faced by Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) women affected by domestic abuse?
We’re looking for a dedicated, culturally aware, and empathetic individual to join our team as a Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic Specialist Outreach Worker. In this role, you’ll support BAME women who have experienced domestic abuse, providing emotional support, advocacy, and help accessing essential services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver crisis intervention support and advocacy to women from BAME backgrounds.
  • Undertake risk and needs assessments and co-develop tailored support plans.
  • Strengthen links with community groups and specialist organisations.
  • Empower women to understand their rights and challenge discrimination and abuse.
  • Raise awareness through education and training sessions for professionals.
  • Monitor progress, update records using our case management system, and ensure exit strategies are in place.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure a high-quality, holistic service.
