Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust provides mental health services across the majority of Wiltshire, Avon and parts of Gloucestershire and Somerset, with over 40 inpatient wards and 40 outpatient facilities of various sizes.
To improve our in-house estates services we are seeking to recruit a highly competent, enthusiastic, motivated individual as Estates Officer to assist in managing the upkeep of the AWP estate.
The post holder will assist in managing the maintenance contract arrangements of the trust, liaise with operational service staff to ensure the estate meets their needs, contribute to developing programmes for refurbishment where needed, and take responsibility for some aspects of technical statutory compliance of the estate.
To successfully achieve this, a wide-ranging experience of estate maintenance is needed, together with areas of detailed knowledge or specialism in either a building fabric construction/maintenance discipline or a building services mechanical/electrical discipline. Experience of supervising work in the healthcare environment, particularly mental health or elderly care, would be beneficial.
We are AWP (Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust): a diverse organisation with over 5,000 dedicated staff providing inpatient and community-based mental health care.
We provide services from a range of locations to approximately 1.8 million people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, across the county of Wiltshire and in parts of Dorset.
Our outstanding people promote mental health and wellbeing. The expertise and resources within AWP are dedicated to a person-centred approach for those who use our services and for all employees. We recognise that happy and fulfilled employees give better care.
At AWP we actively encourage applicants from all backgrounds; we are particularly keen to encourage applications from people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, those with disabilities and from the LGBTQ+ community. We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge to AWP, as diversity makes us stronger.
