Position Summary: The Bank Accountant provides back-office and accounting support for 1st Bergen Federal Credit Union, supporting the collection and analysis of member information, risk trends, & credit union financial performance, as well as ensuring the efficient operation of the credit union.   Responsibilities:  * Process daily FedACH advice slips and reconcile ACH debits and credits.  * Prepare a daily account reconciliation worksheet for processing by analyzing daily financial reports and general ledger totals. * Research out-of-balance conditions & teller error corrections and notify appropriate staff of resolutions.  * Assist appropriate staff with month-end & quarter-end data analysis and reporting. * Verify daily processing of ACH, Share Draft, and ATM Network exceptions. * Analyze the daily transaction journal for evidence of brute-force fraud attempts. * Monitor card fraud notifications and notify the Member Support team to contact cardholders when necessary. * Assist in processing, tracking, and updating cardholder disputes.  * Support the Member Support team with backup and research. * Other relevant duties as assigned.  Qualifications:  * Minimum of a high school diploma or GED * Minimum of 1-year related experience * Experience with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and visualization tools  * Preferred: Prior experience in banking, credit union, or other financial organization * Preferred: Experience with fundamental accounting principles  * Excellent organizational skills  * Ability to collaborate with community partners and interagency departments Schedule:  25 hours per week EEO Statement Greater Bergen Community Action, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
