Bank Sterile Services Assistant | Bank | Competitive Hourly Rate | Flexible Working | Hull Spire Hull and East Riding have a great opportunity for a Sterile Services Assistant to join the team on a flexible basis. Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital is based in Anlaby, near Humber Bridge and the hospital provides care for patients across East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire. Our hospital offers a range of services and procedures including orthopaedic, general surgery, weight loss surgery, eye surgery and cosmetic surgery. Other services include, radiology - MRI and CT and physiotherapy. Duties and responsibilities; Spire Hull & East Riding Sterile Services Department provides a vital service decontaminating and reprocessing surgical instruments for the whole hospital. You will be involved in the cleaning, inspecting, assembling, packing, sterilising and distributing surgical equipment according to hospital requirements. You will also be required to decontaminate endoscopes for our endoscopy department within the hospital. The successful candidate will require attention to detail, and an eagerness and ability to learn. We have a comprehensive in-house training package for the role. The role is physically demanding; you will be required to lift and handle heavy instrument sets and endure long periods of standing. * Checking correct instruments are on trays pre and post decontamination. * Pack instruments for sterilisation. * Complete tracking systems accurately. * Monitor repairs of instruments * Checking functioning of sterilising and decontamination equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions * Decontamination of flexible endoscopes Who we're looking for * No experience necessary as full training given * Basic awareness of health & safety and hygiene. * Working as part of a great team * The flexibility to work on our rota * Willing to work Saturdays when needed.
