We have all lived at Flaxton St for several years now where the team support us to manage various challenges such as different communication styles, bi-polar disorder, epilepsy and onset of dementia. Most of the team have been supporting us for a long time now, but new faces are always welcome. Our support team aris trained to ensure we live our best lives possible so that we enjoy fun, laughter and music!
At Rosedale we have a happy, lively day filled with the activities we enjoy such as trips to the seaside, bowling, arts and crafts, shopping, eating out, cinema and discos. We all enjoy helping with baking and cooking, eating together, watching TV, puzzles, music. Individually we enjoy knitting, gardening, air guitar and line dancing, so quite a varied group but we have fun. The team encourage us to do as much as we can for ourselves and to explore local places and activities.
We are using public transport now so learning bus times and how to get about is an adventure. We are planning a train trip to Newcastle for a day out in the big city. Next stop, London!
Listening and respecting us as individuals is so important - as is a jolly good laugh and some fun!
Flaxton St is a residential service comprising two adjoining bungalows, Rosedale and Rosewood. The two bungalows are linked with a sleep-in room/office and a laundry room. Rosedale bungalow has three bedrooms a lounge, dining room, kitchen, full bathroom and another separate toilet. Rosewood has a similar layout. We have a parking area at the front of our home and the rest is gardens. In Summer we have tea outside, the occasional BBQ, do some gardening and generally ‘muck about’ with a football or games.
Rosedale is full - three lively people who keep the team busy with their chosen daily activities, so hopefully a new group of equally lively, lovely people (just like us!) will come to live at Rosewood.
Rosewood has a new housemate who is fun and full of laughter too. We shall soon have two more housemates so that we can all enjoy the Summer activities in Hartlepool.
