***This application is only applicable for 2025 Summer Intern Conversions*** Citi’s Banking is seeking Investment Banking Analysts in Madrid who plays a crucial role in supporting clients through complex financial endeavours. This position is primarily responsible for assisting clients in their efforts to raise capital within the financial markets. Additionally, the Investment Banking Analyst provides strategic advisory services for a wide range of financial transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate finance activities, working in close coordination with the Banking team. The Analyst also serves as an important intermediary in trading operations for clients. The overarching objective of this role is to contribute to the formulation of sophisticated investment strategies and facilitate capital raising, thereby acting as a key strategic advisor to our valued clients. Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with senior Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) officers and seasoned professionals, actively participating in client transactions, projects, and assignments as a vital junior member of the Investment Banking team. Assume responsibility for meticulously organizing and analysing complex financial data, which forms the foundation for client proposals and strategic plans. Prepare compelling written recommendations, comprehensive valuation materials, and insightful statistical exhibits for both pitch presentations and active deals. Conduct thorough economic and financial research, providing critical insights to support deal execution and client advisory. Systematically evaluate a company's financial performance, benchmarking it against overall industry trends and broader market dynamics to identify key insights and opportunities. Construct and maintain complex financial models, essential for accurate valuation purposes and strategic decision-making. Proactively assess and mitigate risk in all business decisions, demonstrating unwavering consideration for the firm's reputation and diligently safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes ensuring strict compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, exercising sound ethical judgment in all personal and professional conduct, and transparently escalating, managing, and reporting any control issues. Consistently demonstrates clear, concise, and highly effective written and verbal communication skills, crucial for internal and external interactions. Proven ability to perform exceptionally well under pressure in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, consistently meeting stringent deadlines. Qualifications: 2-5 years of relevant experience within the investment banking sector or a closely related financial field. Predicted or obtained a UK 2:1 (or equivalent academic achievement) in a Bachelor's / University Degree Fluency in English and Spanish is essential, encompassing both written and verbal proficiency. Education: A Bachelor's / University degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration is required.
