MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-year College Degree Preferred
  • Knowledge of:
  • Collection processes
  • U.S. Bankruptcy system
  • Recovery procedures for non-bankruptcy charge-offs
  • Skip tracing

This role is responsible for analyzing and tracking incoming bankruptcy notices and payments on bankrupt and recovery accounts. The ideal candidate should have:

  • Strong organizational skills

  • The ability to make sound, independent decisions

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • File Proofs of Claim in CH13 and CH7 asset cases
  • Process bankruptcy discharge and dismissal notices in system
  • Handle reaffirmation agreements
  • Prepare legal assignments and assist with skip tracing/asset location
  • Research and resolve account disputes
  • Complete credit line closures per guidelines
  • Charge off delinquent loans and shares on the core system
  • Investigate/respond to credit reporting & ChexSystem disputes
  • Update member credit account status
  • Report negative shares charge-offs to ChexSystem
  • Assist members with disability, unemployment, and death claims
  • Assign vehicles for repossession and review Stored/Lien Sale notices
  • Prepare Notices of Intent, Deficiency Balance Notices, Fannie Mae Solicitation Letters, and Breach Notices
  • Prepare invoices for collections department
  • Manage phone queues per service level agreements
  • Support collection and branch staff to resolve member issues
  • Post monthly payments from Bankruptcy Trustees, Collection Agencies, Attorneys, and Members
  • Collect past due balances on charged-off loans/shares
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and assist with asset liquidation
  • Maintain professionalism and regulatory compliance in all member interactions
  • Support and implement management decisions as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
