Job Description:
Title: Business Information Systems Support
Reporting to the Director of Business Information Systems, the position is responsible for providing on-going maintenance and support of enterprise systems operations as well as third party integrated systems. All duties will need to be performed in accordance with university policies, procedures and core values.
Essential Functions:
Hands-on technical support to all our stakeholder groups including HR, Finance, Payroll and Research Administration,.
Troubleshoot and respond to incidents, service outages and service requests in a timely manner and collaborate with other technical team members, functional partners and vendors for problem resolutions.
Proactively identify issues with the systems and notify appropriate parties.
Ensure that the service management system and other outgoing reports / data outputs are kept up to date with status.
Ensure application systems integrity by performing appropriate change control and test plans.
Identify and mitigate risks and escalate, as needed.
Ensure quality of deliverables by establishing and following best practices and standards.
Perform other duties as assigned and as needed, including readiness to support after hours and weekends.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
3+ years of experience supporting Ellucian Banner HR and Finance cloud solutions.
3+ years of experience using Oracle – PL/SQL and SQLLDR processes.
1+ years of experience supporting E-Visions (Form Fusion and Intellicheck and MAPS).
1+ years of experience using Automic (Appworx) job scheduler.
Experience developing reports in IBM Cognos.
Experience designing solutions working with cross-functional business users.
Experience developing with front end systems, and relational database systems.
Demonstrated experience with instituting code control, version control, and change management.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field.
Experience with ITIL practices for IT service management.
Experience with ServiceNow.
At the university’s discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

The Business Information Systems (BIS) Enterprise IT group focuses on designing, developing, and evaluating databases and management information systems to support business and managerial operations. They play a crucial role in transforming data into organizational knowledge, enabling informed decision-making and future predictions. There are 6 people on this BIS team reporting to the Manager. This is the technical side of Banner HR & Finance modules so the ability to understand the HR & Finance tables to manipulate, configure and change data is required. Because of ERP transition to Workday expected to go live July 2026, the current BIS Team is getting pulled in to work on the Workday implementation project. Assistance is needed to keep up with the Banner 9 operational support specifically surrounding HR and Finance Modules. Example of some of the operational tasks: communication with Ellucian, Ellucian upgrade troubleshooting, completing data conversion requests, ensuring all integrations between Banner and the enterprise are synchronized, manage user requests, investigate functionality issues, manage compliance changes, etc.
