Description TITLE: Banquet Bartender DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage REPORTS TO: Banquet Captain / Banquet Manager / Outlets Manager / F&B Manager JOB SUMMARY: Prepare, mix, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner during banquet events. Set up and maintain banquet bars, ensure cleanliness of the bar area, assist with event service needs, and support banquet operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Set up and break down banquet bars, including stocking requisitions, preparing mixers, cutting fruit, garnishes, ice, and ensuring par levels are maintained. Prepare and serve drink orders (cocktails, wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages) according to specified recipes, using measuring systems, proper glassware, garnishes, and portion control. Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles; efficiently dispense beverages to guests and servers. Assist banquet servers by running beverages, clearing tables/glassware, retrieving reusable items, and supporting food/beverage service as needed during events. Maintain cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas: wipe down surfaces, polish equipment, clean glassware, sweep/mop floors, dispose of garbage, and handle spills/breakage immediately. Transport equipment, linens, and supplies safely; handle all bar equipment, glassware, and props responsibly, ensuring proper storage after use. Gather necessary equipment and supplies to service events effectively. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to the essential functions, this position may perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time determined by the manager based on hotel/event requirements: Assist in moving tables, chairs, or other event setup items as assigned. Inform supervisor of any problems, guest complaints, or maintenance needs. Participate in deep cleaning of banquet spaces or outlets. Retrieve beverage, food, or non-food requisitions. Provide knowledge of menu items, beverage preparation methods, and event standards to guests when needed. Handle cash/assigned house bank and follow cash handling procedures (if applicable). Requirements SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation: Strong knowledge of drink preparation, standard recipes, garnishes, and applicable health/sanitation standards. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with guests, servers, and team members. Basic computational ability for handling orders, cash, and par levels. Familiarity with operating bar-related equipment (e.g., blenders, coffee makers, cash terminals, cutting tools). Knowledge of table service standards and beverage service etiquette in banquet/event settings. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Most work tasks are performed indoors with moderate, controlled temperatures; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) or kitchens (+110°F) for one hour or more. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods up to 4 hours. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, reach, climb, and maneuver in limited spaces to fulfill tasks. Must be able to lift and carry trays, cases, or items weighing up to 30-50 lbs. on a regular basis, and push/pull carts or equipment up to 250 lbs. frequently. Requires grasping, writing, standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motions, manual dexterity, listening, hearing, and visual acuity (including near vision, color vision, and depth perception). Talking and hearing occur continuously when communicating with guests, supervisors, and employees. AVAILABILITY This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Flexibility is required, including working weekends, holidays, early mornings, late nights, or extended shifts as business and event demands dictate. The hotel's needs determine work hours and scheduling.
