POSITION SUMMARY:

The Banquet Bartender is responsible for working directly with our guests, mixing and serving drink orders. The bartender is also responsible for verifying age requirements, knowing a variety of established recipes, and managing the bar’s inventory and cleaning bar supplies throughout each working shift. The Starting Gate at GreatHorse is a non-tipping facility.

YOUR SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • Knowledge of beverage ingredients
  • Multi-tasking abilities
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and perform job functions with diligence, speed, and accuracy.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE:

  • Follow all state and local laws for serving alcohol responsibly (i.e., last call times).
  • Prepare drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems.
  • Replenish beverages when necessary and check with guests to ensure they are satisfied.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and condition of the bar, tables, and other tools.
  • Follow all setup guidelines.
  • Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks.
  • Document and immediately communicate any incidents/accidents to management during the shift or event.
  • Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies.
  • Requisition all necessary supplies, specifically bottle-for-bottle liquor restock, and transport supplies from the storeroom to the bar set-up area as required.
  • Remove soiled wares from the bar top and tables and place them in the designated area.
  • Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs promptly, ensuring no shortages through the scheduled function time.
  • Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
  • Complete closing duties, including storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas, returning equipment to proper locations, locking refrigerators, restocking items, and completing daily cleaning checklists.
  • Maintains reasonable, regular, and punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.
