POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and service-driven Part-Time Banquet Captain to join our Banquets team. Reporting to the Banquet Manager, the Banquet Captain plays a leadership role in overseeing banquet events, ensuring smooth operations, and delivering outstanding guest service. This is a hands-on supervisory position, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, event-focused environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous banquet or hospitality supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and guest service abilities.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be available to work late evenings, sometimes as late as 2:00 a.m.
  • Serving It Right certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
Responsibilities
  • Lead banquet setup and tear-down according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Conduct pre-event briefings with banquet staff, communicating menus, timelines, and service expectations.
  • Greet clients, confirm event details, review A/V needs, and remain available throughout events.
  • Assign and supervise staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Manage change orders, update BEOs, and maintain detailed event logs.
  • Oversee bar cash-outs, liquor inventory counts, and deposits.
  • Ensure adherence to all banquet SOPs, policies, and service standards.
  • Handle guest concerns and escalate incidents or staff challenges to the Banquet Manager.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and complete necessary reports at the end of shifts.
  • Support Lost & Found procedures and other administrative tasks as required.
