Position Overview: The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing the setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet events, ensuring excellent service and guest satisfaction throughout the event. They manage a team of servers, bartenders and other event staff, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish. The Banquet Captain works closely with the event set-up team, kitchen, and other departments to deliver exceptional experiences for guests. Key Responsibilities: * Supervise event staff during events to ensure proper service, attention to detail, and adherence to quality standards. * Act as the primary point of contact for clients and guests, handling any requests or concerns in a timely and professional manner. * Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the event, addressing any issues or complaints swiftly and effectively. * Ensure that food and beverages are served in a timely manner, in accordance with the client’s specifications and event schedule. * Direct and supervise the banquet servers, bartenders, and support staff, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities. * Oversee inventory control, ensuring that all necessary supplies (e.g., table settings, linens, glassware) are available and in good condition. * Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere among team members, fostering teamwork and collaboration. * Inspect event spaces before, during, and after events to ensure cleanliness, proper setup, and adherence to client specifications. * Assist in the preparation and submission of event reports, including feedback and any challenges faced during the event. * Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team and business. Qualifications and Skills: * Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. * Previous experience in hospitality or event services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory, management or leadership role * Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. * Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. * Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations with grace. * Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, event management software). Physical Requirements: * Must be able to safely lift, move, and stack items weighing up to 50 lbs. * Able to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods. * Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
