Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Richmond, VA 23233 Salary Range: $17.00 - $18.25 Hourly Job Category: Restaurant - Food Service Job Title: Banquet Cook Company: Shamin Hotels/Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump Department: Banquets/Food and Beverage Pay Structure: Hourly, Paid Bi-weekly Position Summary: The Banquet Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food for banquet events, ensuring consistency, timeliness, and adherence to food safety standards. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook food items according to banquet event orders and standardized recipes. Assist with setup, service, and breakdown of banquet food stations and buffets. Ensure all food is cooked and presented on time and to the company’s standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, equipment, and storage. Monitor food stock and report any shortages or needs to the chef or supervisor. Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and banquet team to ensure successful event execution. Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food items as needed. Operate all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean and professional appearance and represent the brand with pride. Qualifications Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 1–2 years of culinary experience in a banquet, catering, or high-volume kitchen setting. ServSafe Certification or Food Handler’s Certificate preferred. Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices (completion of commonwealth approved food handling safety training will be required). Ability to follow recipes and directions precisely. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
