Essential Functions: * Completes prep work for all soups, sauces, vegetables, starches, and any other assigned duties, including daily maintenance of coolers and work areas, as well as properly storing and rotating products. * Assists the Banquet Chef in plate ups, buffets, and receptions. * Stores all food in refrigerated boxes including covers, labels, dates, and use proper containers to protect against waste and spoilage. * Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment at all times. * Prepares café items as needed and ensures they meet the same quality standards as for guests. * Works action stations as requested for banquet functions Supportive Functions: In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, at the discretion of the manager based on the particular requirements of the hotel. * Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning product, as assigned, to adhere to health standards. * Performs other duties as requested, such as moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc., to ensure a safe working environment. * Helps in other outlets when business demands Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. * Must possess a basic knowledge of fundamental cooking. * Must possess a basic knowledge of sanitation standards. * Ability to read English and understand banquet event orders. * Ability to lift 50 lbs. * Ability to work at a quick and efficient pace. Qualifications: Education: Culinary Arts Degree preferred, or any other combination of training or experience in the culinary arts.   Experience: Basic cooking knowledge. Licenses and Certificates: Florida Health Certification.
