Blue Lake Casino & Hotel POSITION DESCRIPTION MANAGEMENT RETAINS THE RIGHT TO CHANGE JOB DESCRIPTION AS DEEMED NECESSARY Job Title: Banquet Lead Department: F&B - Restaurant Reports To: Banquet Supervisor  FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Prepared By: Human Resources Manager  Prepared Date: May 13, 2013 Approved By: Food & Beverage Manager  Approved Date: May 13, 2013 JOB SUMMARY To supervise and over see banquets/special events, follow all polices and procedures and work directly with the Group Sales Manager and/or Special Events Coordinator. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Inventories and orders small wares and banquet supplies. * Work with other department heads on banquet work schedules; monitors, and records employee attendance and performance. * Track employee time cards and submit to the Events Coordinator for approval. * Attends staff meetings. * Reports staffing, morale, work methods, and procedure problems to the department head. * Set-up and breakdown tables, decorations, equipment, serving areas and related activities in an accurate and timely manner. * Serve prepared meals to guest in an accurate and timely manner. * Ensure that guests have adequate beverage throughout dinner. * Ensure that all food service equipment is properly secured upon the conclusion of catering functions. * Maintain appearance standards as outlined in departmental handbook. * Must wear black non-slip shoes. * Other duties as assigned. * Promotes the following within the department and among all Team Members: * Creates an atmosphere of FUN for all casino guests. * Encourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all Team Members, by setting positive examples at all times. * Maintains a professional departmental, company and community reputation. * Blue Lake Casino & Hotel requires Team Members, on a continual basis… * To provide a safe work environment for Team Members, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution. * To maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation. * To enforce performance standards, policies and procedures as they relate to the department. * To maintain a consistent, regular attendance record. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum of two years experience in a similar full service and cashiering restaurant. Ability to balance and reconcile cashier banks. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to describe and up sell wines and spirits. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to guests and employees of the organization. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Team Members of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. * Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS * While employed, you must maintain a valid and active Blue Lake Tribal Gaming Commission License. * Must complete TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) training for serving alcohol responsibly within three months of being employed and maintain a valid certificate while employed thereafter.
