About Orient Express Venezia at Palazzo Donà Giovanelli Orient Express will open its second hotel in Italy at the exceptional in Venice. Architect and interior designer Aline Amar d’Amman, alongside her studio Culture in Architecture, has been entrusted to design and decorate the space. Venice, once the gateway to Constantinople and a mythical stop on the legendary Orient Express train – that opened its doors in 1919 with the completion of the Simplon tunnel linking Switzerland to Italy – will be the home of the second Orient Express hotel, set to open in 2026. Job Description As a Banquet Manager, you will be at the heart of creating extraordinary experiences for our guests. From intimate gatherings to grand events of over a thousand guests, you will ensure every detail reflects the elegance and service excellence of our luxury standards. This role combines leadership, precision, and a passion for hospitality, guiding a dedicated team while coordinating with culinary and service professionals to deliver flawless events that exceed expectations. Responsibilities: Lead and inspire the banquet team, ensuring the highest standards of service, professionalism, and attention to detail. Recruit, train, and develop colleagues to maintain excellence in execution and uphold hotel standards. Oversee the planning and execution of banquet set-ups, food and beverage service, and event logistics for gatherings of all sizes. Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Culinary Team to deliver exceptional dining experiences tailored to each event. Conduct regular inspections of banquet facilities, equipment, and presentation, addressing deficiencies promptly to maintain a polished environment. Act as the primary liaison with clients before, during, and after events, ensuring seamless communication and delivering personalized, memorable experiences. Manage administrative functions including accurate billing, scheduling, gratuity distribution, and event documentation. Support financial performance and departmental goals while maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction, health, and safety. Foster a culture of teamwork, recognition, and continuous improvement through coaching and leading by example. Qualifications Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Banquet Manager in luxury hotel. Post-secondary education in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Graciousness, Thoughtfulness & Sense of Personalized Service. Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Email). Previous experience within a luxury hotel environment working with LQA, Forbes 5* or equivalent standards. Proven leadership and commitment to staff development. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English and Italian required.
