  • Must have at least 1 year prior banquet service experience in similar size property.
  • Able to professionally handle guest complaints.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently with all departments.
  • Willing to work flexible hours to include weekends, holidays and late nights.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.
  • MUST have a passion for providing “excellent” customer service experience.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure that proper Banquet service standards are met in order that all guests receive a consistent, professional and memorable experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the setting of tables is completely set up according to diagram on Banquet Event Order.
  • Serve and clear food and beverage quietly, professionally, and quickly, using proper serving and clearing techniques.
  • Keep work area clean, and coordinate actions with the Banquet team members, and all other members of the front and back of house to ensure flawless customer service.
  • Maintain proper grooming and personal hygiene.
  • Make sure that linens are clean and pressed with no tears, burn marks, etc.
  • Confirm with the Banquet Captain exactly what place settings are required for the event.
  • Fold napkins neatly according to the design selected by the Banquet Captain or the event planner.
  • Confirm that all utensils needed for each course are included at each place setting.
  • Inspect all dishes and glassware for spots, cracks or blemishes.
  • Make sure all trash cans in event room are empty and clean.
  • Be courteous, efficient and quiet at all times when in function/event room.
  • Maintain good posture, never slouch, lean or stand around talking.
  • While in the room, smile and when appropriate acknowledge guests through brief eye contact.
  • Remain on the floor while guests are present, unless they are in the back of house getting food or drink.
  • Constantly monitor station, refilling water glasses and serving fresh tea or coffee.
  • Attend pre-meal briefing in order to be abreast of all details as it pertains to the function/event.
  • Follow proper etiquette when setting up tables.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures when carrying Oval and 16” Round trays.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures when servicing tables.
