Position: Banquet Server
Department: Food & Beverage/Operations
Reports to: Banquet Captain/Banquet Manager
Location: On-site (USA)
FLSA: F/T or P/T, Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Banquet Server at Hotel Indigo Irving–Las Colinas, you will play a vital role in creating memorable guest experiences during events, meetings, and banquets. You will provide attentive, efficient, and personalized service in line with IHG’s True Hospitality brand standards. This position requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering warm, engaging, and intuitive service that reflects the vibrant and creative spirit of Hotel Indigo.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: Prior banquet, catering, or restaurant service experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with banquet service techniques (plated, buffet, tray passing) preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, carry trays up to 25 lbs., bend, stoop, and move quickly.
  • Other: Must have TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) and Food Handler certification or ability to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities
  • Event Setup & Breakdown
  • Assist with setting up banquet rooms according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including tables, chairs, linens, service ware, and décor.
  • Break down and clean banquet areas efficiently after events, ensuring compliance with hotel cleanliness standards.
  • Food & Beverage Service
  • Greet guests warmly, provide attentive table service, and anticipate guest needs throughout the event.
  • Serve plated meals, buffet items, hors d’oeuvres, and beverages with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Ensure all food and beverage is delivered according to hotel standards for quality and presentation.
  • Guest Experience & Brand Engagement
  • Deliver “Neighborhood Story” service—sharing local knowledge of Las Colinas and making authentic guest connections.
  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, or concerns promptly and with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a polished, professional, and approachable demeanor at all times.
  • Operational Support
  • Collaborate closely with Banquet Captain, Culinary, and Event Services teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service guidelines.
  • Report any equipment or maintenance issues to management.
