About the Role: As a banquet server, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences during events and special occasions. Your primary focus will be to ensure guests receive attentive, courteous, and efficient service in a fast-paced banquet environment. You will collaborate closely with the event and catering teams to set up banquet rooms, serve food and beverages, and maintain cleanliness throughout the event. This role demands adaptability to various event types, from formal dinners to casual receptions, ensuring all guests' needs are met with professionalism. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the overall success and positive reputation of the hosting venue or organization. Minimum Qualifications: * Previous experience in food service or hospitality, preferably in a banquet or event setting. * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays or plates weighing up to 25 pounds. * Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members. * Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards. * Legal authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications: * Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe). * Experience working in high-volume banquet or catering environments. * Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. * Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population. * Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities: * Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and place settings. * Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously to guests during events, ensuring all dietary restrictions and preferences are respected. * Assist in clearing tables and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the event. * Collaborate with kitchen and event staff to coordinate timing and delivery of courses and beverages. * Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and resolve any service issues to ensure guest satisfaction. Skills: The required skills such as effective communication and physical stamina are essential for interacting with guests and managing the physical demands of banquet service. Attention to detail ensures that event setups meet specifications and that guests receive accurate orders. Food safety knowledge is applied daily to maintain hygiene standards and prevent contamination. Preferred skills like multilingualism enhance guest interactions and service quality in diverse settings. Teamwork and problem-solving skills are critical for coordinating with kitchen and event staff to deliver seamless service during dynamic event conditions.
